Covid Response Plan
Red Setting - Health and Safety Measures at Corinna School
Thank you for supporting us to keep all our students, staff and whānau safe. The following are a summary of current health and safety measures at our school:
Events and Activities: Large hui and gatherings, especially when indoors, continue to be the riskier of the activities that can be undertaken. We have therefore reviewed all our events and activities for the upcoming Term to ensure we meet the health guidance for Red.
Ventilation: Providing good old fashioned fresh air remains the most important thing we can do in our learning spaces to minimise risk.
Masks: While New Zealand is at Red, staff, and children in Years 4 – 8, must wear masks when inside at school. Public health advice is that masks need to fit well. The masks which can be used are single use masks, disposable medical masks and reusable fabric masks with three layers. Don’t worry if you don’t have these specific types of face coverings, as public health experts also say that any face covering is better than no face covering. If your child is in Year 4 or above, they will need to bring a mask to school every day. We have a small supply of spare masks at school. Students have regular mask free breaks outside during class time. If they need more breaks, teachers will always allow this.
Whānau Onsite: Thank you to those parents/caregivers who helped us out last term by dropping off and picking up their children outside the school gates. We ask that you continue to do this please for the safety of our students and staff.
If you do need to come onsite, please:
● Report and sign in at the school Office first
● Wear a mask
● Hand sanitise as you enter the building
● Physical distance
● Scan in using the QR code
For most enquiries, we should be able to help you over the phone. You are most welcome to phone the school office using our Freephone 0800 002 416. Staff can also be contacted via the school office, and will return phone calls during out of class hours.
